General Information

The Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University and the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology in Taiwan have established a double bachelor’s degree program. This initiative aims to make students more accessible to the benefits of an internationalized higher education experience. Students participating in this program will be provided with an international curriculum, taught by world-class faculty and scientists from both universities. The program will immerse students in a multinational environment, offering them valuable experience and exposure to Taiwan.

Program Structure

The program is structured in two stages. The first stage takes place at Chulalongkorn University for a minimum of four semesters, while the second stage is conducted at Lunghwa University for at least four semesters.

Registration

Students enrolled in this program will first register as regular students at Chulalongkorn University and later at Lunghwa University. Each admission will adhere to the student admission policies set by each university. To qualify for enrollment at Lunghwa University, students must complete all required coursework within their second year of the bachelor’s program at Chulalongkorn University. Students will spend a minimum of two years at Lunghwa University to fulfill the necessary credits from coursework and industrial training.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the academic requirements of both universities. Students are also required to achieve the minimum score on one of the following English proficiency tests:

  • TOEFL (Internet-based): not lower than 80
  • IELTS or IELTS Indicator: not lower than 6.0
  • CU-TEP: not lower than 80
  • Duolingo English Test: not lower than 105
  • Gaokao English: not lower than 100

Graduation Requirements

Students are required to stay at Lunghwa University for a minimum of four semesters, or two years, as a general standard. Failure to meet this requirement will prevent the conferment of a degree from Lunghwa University.

At the end of the program, students who fulfill the academic requirements of both Chulalongkorn University and Lunghwa University will receive bachelor’s degrees from both universities.

Students who do not complete the program will be considered regular exchange students. The credits earned at Lunghwa University can be transferred back to Chulalongkorn University, provided that students meet the standards set by both universities.

Credit Transfer

The minimum credit requirement for graduation is 131 credits at Chulalongkorn University and 128 credits at Lunghwa University. Students can transfer a maximum of 70 credits to Lunghwa University, which will count towards their coursework there. Additionally, students must complete at least 64 credits of coursework at Lunghwa University. For Chulalongkorn University, a maximum of 46 credits can be transferred as compulsory and elective course credits. Lunghwa University will also assess whether students meet its requirements based on the equivalent time spent on the Semiconductor Engineering Project work (Special Topics for Practical Issues (II)) at their institution.

Both universities agree to allow the transfer of certain credits between them for this program. Please note that the list of transferable credits may be updated annually.
