Student Exchange Program
- All students are encouraged to participate in the Student Exchange Program.
- Students can choose to study abroad for one semester or one academic year at our partner universities.
- The partner university charges no tuition fee, as students continue to pay their tuition to Chula while they are away.
- Students will be responsible for all other expenses that occurred during the exchange program.
- All course credits on exchange must be approved for transfer to SEMI’s degree requirements as appropriate.
- The SEMI program will subsidize the airfare and visa fee of up to 30,000 Baht per student for exchange program and internship abroad.
Apply at the Faculty Level
- Applicants must be full-time students and have completed at least two semesters of the study program.
- Preferable GPAX of at least 2.75
Apply at the University Level

Remarks: Students can apply to study abroad through two channels: the Faculty of Engineering and the university with the Office of International Affairs and Global Network.
Apply via Faculty Level MoU
- Submit the application form online via the ISE Intranet
- Prepare the student’s photo (on a white background), academic transcript, and passport
Apply via University Level MoU

Remarks: Students should carefully follow application instructions and submit the application and required documents to the partner university on time.
- The scores are calculated from GPAX (65%) and interview (35%).
- The quota from each partner university will be allocated based on the scores students have obtained.
After getting the acceptance letter from the partner university, students must prepare the following before departure:
- Check the course registration process at the partner university
- Book the accommodation
- Apply for a student visa to the destination country
- Book plane ticket
- Buy travel insurance that covers the exchange period
- Pay tuition fee and program fee to Chula via CUNEX
Remarks:
- Students are not required to register for courses at Chula for the exchange semester. However, students must pay tuition and program fees as usual.
- Students must be responsible for their visa application process on their own.
Before returning to Chula, students must do the following:
- Request the official transcript from the partner university to prepare for the grading transfer to Chula and submit it via the ISE Intranet.
- Check the class schedule and register for the SEMI courses according to the Registrar’s Office course registration timeline.
- Write a report sharing your experience about the exchange semester at the partner university and upload it to the ISE Intranet.
- Keep the boarding pass, airfare receipts, and visa payment receipts for reimbursement.
Remarks: The grade received from the host university must not be less than C. The transferred grade will be shown as S or U on the Chula transcript.
- The SEMI program will nominate selected students to the partner university of the student’s choice within their deadline.
- Students are not allowed to contact the partner university unless they get an email to complete the exchange student’s application from the coordinator at the partner university.
- Students must complete the exchange program application form at the partner university by the deadline.
- The partner university decides whether to accept applicants as exchange students. Their decision is deemed final.
- Please do not book a flight ticket and accommodation until you get the acceptance letter from the partner university.
- Students participating in the exchange program must return to Chula no later than the third week of January for the first semester, or August for the second semester.
